About
James Ahern is an accomplished trial lawyer with extensive courtroom experience in both criminal and civil matters. Before joining Fuller & Ahern, P.C., James served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Fourth Judicial District in El Paso County, Colorado, where he handled and tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases. His prosecutorial work included charges such as First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Robbery, First Degree Arson, Vehicular Homicide, Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Assault (Crime of Violence), Marijuana cultivation and possession, Felony Eluding, DUI/DWAI, and a wide range of domestic violence offenses.
During his time as a prosecutor, James also served as the Arson Liaison for the office and was a member of the Vehicular Homicide and Vehicular Assault Team.
Since joining Fuller & Ahern, P.C., James has focused his practice on criminal defense and personal injury litigation. He has successfully defended clients against charges including DUI/DWAI, Assault, Sexual Assault, Burglary, Stalking, and other serious felony and misdemeanor offenses, including those involving domestic violence allegations. On the civil side, James has helped numerous clients recover millions of dollars in settlements for personal injury claims.

James earned his B.A. from the University of Colorado Denver, graduating cum laude and with distinction, and received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2010. He lives in Douglas County, Colorado, with his wife, Brittany, and their three children.
