With the recent welcoming of partner James J.L. Ahern, a well-established Colorado law firm gains a new name but continues to provide the same stellar service and attention to clients seeking guidance in matters that include family law, personal injury and criminal defense.
Fuller & Ahern P.C. is the new name of the law firm formerly known as Susan Fuller & Associates P.C., which has served clients in the Denver metro-area and Colorado Springs since 1997.
For more than a decade, Mr. Ahern has worked alongside firm founder Susan Fuller. Before becoming a partner in the firm, he most recently served as senior attorney. Fuller & Ahern’s main office is in – a southeastern suburb of Denver.
Criminal defense, family law personal injury
A skilled trial attorney, Mr. Ahern is known for his knowledge, passion, persistence and effectiveness in guiding clients, primarily in these three areas:
- Criminal defense: He has successfully represented clients accused of felony and misdemeanor charges, including, DUI/DWAI, assault, domestic violence, sexual assault, burglary and juvenile criminal matters.
- Family law: The firm focuses on all areas of family law, including divorce, military divorce, modifications, asset division, and child custody and visitation matters. Mr. Ahern has represented a number of clients in complex high-asset divorce cases.
- Personal injury: In representing victims of negligence, Mr. Ahern has obtained more than $1 million in in settlements for personal injury clients. The list of clients includes victims of sexual assault, motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, defective products and premises liability.
Before joining Fuller & Ahern, Mr. Ahern served two years as a deputy district attorney for the Fourth Judicial District in Colorado’s El Paso County. In that role, he prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases.
Mr. Ahern received his law degree in 2010 from University of Denver — Sturm College of Law.
National recognition from peers
Each year since 2014, Mr. Ahern has made the National Trial Lawyers Association’s elite Top 40 Under 40 list, honoring the country’s top trial attorneys younger than the age of 40. He also was named among the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 for criminal defense for 2017 and 2018. And for six consecutive years beginning in 2016, FindLaw selected Mr. Ahern as one of its Rising Stars.
